Rip

Thirteen

“13”
By Austin

The lens of the world is jaded,
Leaders of nations are financially persuaded,
While our youths is too busy gettin’ faded,
While our youths is too busy gettin’ faded.

Take a look at a 13-year-old girl, whose pupils are dilated,
She put heroin in her vain cause she hadn’t made it,
Eyes is bleedy,
up against the wall like graffiti,
yo, she tried to live regal,
but she caught up in a game,
got her livin’ illegal.

Stuck in the streets,
Diggin’ through dumpsters to find her eats.
She creeps,
Like footsteps in the night,
Darkness overshadows the light,
Why’s her life such a struggle,
a fight?

We fight for freedom, we war for peace,
Seems ironical if this is how we achieve these,
Shattered dreams, outspoken themes,
Tryin’ to keep herself clean,
In this painful scene.

In streets she learns, no one to turn,
Falls into a sinful bliss of needles and shit,
Trackmarks on her arms, slits on her wrists.
Caught in the game,
Tell her who to blame in this cold hard reign,
Terror.

So Called life,
Based on insight she received throughout the years,
Cry so many tears,
Escapin’ her fears,
Stereotypin’ her peers.
Trust no one.
It beats ho en’,
Life is fallen apart at thirteen.

Is this a nightmare or a dream?
Tryin’ to wipe the slate clean,
Forgive us for our mishaps,
Forgive us for our schemes.

Fornicatin’ lies,
Inside ourselves, disguised,
Plottin’ ones needs.
broken self-esteem.
Blurring the line of distinction between reality and dreams.
In a quest for truth,
Not in a quest for cream.

Understanding that in my corner there’s only 3 members of my team,
Me, myself, and I,
The only ones who decide,
If I survive, prosper, and thrive,
Or fade out like a shooting star,
Wavin’ good-bye.

This pen is an extension of my soul,
And it won’t let me lie,
Ballpoint vision,
First star wishin’,
Sometimes I make myself want to cry,
Yo, sometimes I make myself want to cry.

So, I extend a peace sign out to the whole world,
For those who forgot about the 13-year-old girls,
The ones that got glowin’ personalities inside their shells,
Like pearls.

Lets focus on this commodity,
Act introspectively,
And solve the true problems,
As a human race collectively.

Tears and Stars

Tears and Stars
By Austin

As the rain falls, I feel alive,
I know it falls from our same sky.

Sometimes it's blue sometimes it's grey,
It blankets us both, for night and for day.

The world, my girl, Is small and bright,
my life is dark, and you've become my light.

A single star twinkling and smiling at me,
the arrival on the beach of the wave from the sea.

The grains of sand so gentle and so kind,
the earth is real, but you're the world in my mind.

The stars will fall, the sand will always move,
but your beauty is endless, so soft and so smooth.

My tears will flow like a river from springs melted snow,
your smiles light up my life like the suns casted glow.
